Paul,
The pushrod is setting high because the tappet has come out of its channel. =
You will need to pull that rod out and get the tappet to re-seat. There h=
as already been lots of good tricks offered for that but the easiest is to j=
ust pull the head and that way you have plenty of room to get to it. =20

t's pushrod with my palm, but it would not drop down. I do have an extra pu=
shrod if others think I ought to tap it down using a pushrod, Heck, I proab=
ly could use the old bent pushrod which I have now replaced, to tap it in pl=
ace. I just don't want to attempt this unless others give me a green light.=
