Hi all,<br>

I've got a question on the exhaust mounting on a Stag.<br>

bsp; Its triangular so to speak and has 3 mounting holes.&nbsp; 2 would atta=

<br>
Stumped.&nbsp; A picture would help.&nbsp; Mine is a manual gearbox with A t=

Hi all,<br>
<br>
I've got a question on the exhaust mounting on a Stag.<br>
<br>
I'm fitting a new stainless exhaust system from Rimmers and a bracket came w=
ith the mounting kit (158382) which is shown as the mounting bracket for the=
 downpipes at the end where they attach to the mufflers.&nbsp; On the gearbo=
x, the upper mounting bracket thst attaches to the tailshaft has a bracket c=
oming off it that drops down with two holes in it.&nbsp; My old downpipes we=
re attached directly to this bracket.<br>
<br>
So where does this exhaust mounting bracket go and what does it attach to?&n=
bsp; Its triangular so to speak and has 3 mounting holes.&nbsp; 2 would atta=
ch to the downpipes presumably, but where does that bracket attach to with t=
he 3rd hole?&nbsp; The catalog shows a bolt with no nut implying it screws i=
nto a nutplate.&nbsp; Does this bracket attach to one of the holes on the ge=
arbox upper mounting bracket?&nbsp; <br>
<br>
Stumped.&nbsp; A picture would help.&nbsp; Mine is a manual gearbox with A t=
ype OD, but it looks like the gearbox upper mounting bracket and this downpi=
pe mounting bracket are common to all except the type 65 box.<br>
<br>
Any help appreciated.<br>
<br>
Thanks,<br>
Frank<br>

v><p>Dear Fellow Triumph Owner,</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>I=E2=80=99m sending this r=
eminder to Triumph Car Clubs and Standard Motor Car Clubs around the world, a=
long with those who have submitted photos from past Drive Your Triumph Day a=
ctivities.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Drive Your Triumph Day is next weekend, Sunday=
, February 10th. I=E2=80=99ve heard from many of you about group drives you h=
ave organized, which is great. If you haven=E2=80=99t planned anything there=
=E2=80=99s still time, or be sure and go for a drive by yourself.</p><p>&nbs=
p;</p><p>The concept is straightforward. On February 10th, go for a drive in=
 your Triumph or Standard. Take a scenic drive on a country road or out to l=
unch, to the market, to work, where ever. Go for a drive alone or in a big g=
roup from your local Triumph or Standard car club. Take your spouse, buddy, c=
hild, grandchild or your dog; then take a photo. The photo is mainly of the c=
ar, and the owner if possible, ideally in front a cool spot, landmark, sceni=
c view, in your driveway or in your garage. </p><p><br></p><p>If it=E2=80=99=
s the middle of the winter where you live and your car is in hibernation, or=
 in the middle of a restoration, take a photo of it anyway. Send a hi-res ph=
oto to <a href=3D"mailto:driveyourtriumphday@gmail.com"; target=3D"_blank">dr=
iveyourtriumphday@gmail.com</a>, along with some basic information: owner=E2=
=80=99s name, year and model of car, and place photo was taken (city, state,=
 country).</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Now the bonus info, which I=E2=80=99m very exc=
ited to share. In early January I was able to get in touch with Nick Black, S=
ir John Black=E2=80=99s son. We=E2=80=99ve exchanged over 20 emails covering=
 several topics, of course including Drive Your Triumph Day He=E2=80=99s ver=
y pleased about the event, and had read about it in the Standard Car Review.=
 He shipped me a DVD with some home videos, and most importantly, he sent me=
 a PDF of his book, Triumph &amp; Tragedy, instructing me that it=E2=80=99s O=
K to post on our website and distribute freely. I=E2=80=99ve loaded it on my=
 Kindle, which works but the text is kind of small. I=E2=80=99ve also loaded=
 it on my iPad, which is better, and of course very easy to read on my compu=
ter.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>This is the link to the Triumph Travelers Sports Car=
 Club, in our 61st year, the longest running active Triumph Club in the worl=
d. <a href=3D"http://www.triumphtravelers.org"; target=3D"_blank">www.triumph=
travelers.org</a>&nbsp;&nbsp;There is a box on the right side of the window l=
abeled Quick Links, and the bottom one is the link to Triumph &amp; Tragedy.=
</p><p><br></p><p>Be sure to contact me with any questions you may have, and=
 thank you in advance for getting the message out to your members and friend=
s to drive their Triumphs and Standard cars on February 10th.</p><p>&nbsp;</=
