You should measure the liner protrusion with one or the other installed. In 
my case I found the figure 8's were different thickness. Use the figure 8's 
that result in your liner protrusion being within spec.

Just received my 87mm pistons and liners from TRF, the package included 
steel figure eight gaskets, my gasket kit from TRF included copper ones.  Is 
there any consensus as to which is preferred?
