Over tightening the spinners can cause the hub to expand and thus
causing excessive movement.  The spinners are left and right handed and
as such are are self tightening. You should check the owners manual but
my memory is to snug the wheels with the supplied mallet and let them do
the rest themselves.

Please note that regardless of how tight you make the spinners if there
is slack in the splines the wheels will move every time you cycle a
braking event with an acceleration.  Extra horsepower and hard usage
will cause the wheels/splines to wear more quickly.  Don't forget they
were designed back when 100 HP was considered a lot.  Jag wheels have
larger diameter splines which also have a larger spline area. Knock off
steel wheels with locating dowels rather than splines were developed for
racing for just these reason.  It is also why they stopped trying to use
wire wheels on Cobras.
