Computer vrs Car developments

Does anyone out there know the full quote (and preferably the sourse) that
goes something like :

If cars had developed as fast as computers, they would do 0-60 in 1 sec,
100 mph and do 100 mpg.


I am sure I have seen it as a footnote on someones mail on this list.

Any help appreciated
