I have a friend who bought the 53 Chevy for $500 from an old lady whose
son left it in the garage when he went off to get killed in Korea - she
thought it was just a used Chevvy.
Anyway, this friend of mine took it to Elkhart and, coming out of
Seibkens after a night of celebration after winning his vintage class
race, he picked up a hitch hiker who eventually bought him a drink.
He passed out in the car, of course, and when he came to he found that
someone had amputated all four fenders and turned it into a formula car.
There was a note pinned to his dashboard which read....
