Without checking my books, Daimler built thousands of Darts. 
There is a strong club for them here in New Zealand.

A 105E engine (even highly tweaked) wouldn't do much justice
to the heavy Dart. Nor would an Alfa engine.
It took every bit of grunt the 140 hp V8 had to get it up to 
the magic ton!
The Dart DID have fibreglass body with tail fins on a 
big chassis. The body used to squeak as it flexed!
