We currently measure oil temp in the sump on our 302, because the
bunge was there and I haven't felt like redoing the lines....
We regularly see 260....280 on the last lap if pushed to 7500.
  
Motor now has 30 hours, oil checks OK (changed every 2 weekends)
Using redline or amsoil.  I don't perceive a problem.
Although I am really curious what the temps are after the cooler.
