Oil Temp guage variation

No matter what brand of guage you use i would test it next time you change 
your oil, test it in boiling water or hot oil at above 200: (in the range you 
want it to be acurate), test against a  themometer or probe style pyrometer not 
another guage, you might be real supprised the spread guages can have from 
reality.  I think guages are very important but you should use them as a 
relative 
temperature reading not as a  precise instrument reading.  On water temp 
10-25: off is not unusual.....I would be interested so let us know what you 
find......chuck
