Hi Folks,
Hoping you might give some good direction for my Stag. It has been
sitting for years with an occasional jaunt around the block. When last
driven it operated great. It was rebuilt only 10k miles ago. Except for
the electronic ignition, the engine is stock. Now upon driving it seems
to have no power and backfires through the intake. I have checked the
timing. It does have an Alison electronic ignition. I have confirmed
the plug wiring is correct. I am in the process of checking compression
and valve lash setting. If you free rev it in the garage it also
backfires. I replaced the gas with a fresh mix a month ago. Any other
ideas?
