 Tim,
The current pads may be glazed over; the pins that the pads ride on could b=
e rusty or at least need to be lubed; brake hoses could be old and expandin=
g when the brake pedal is pushed; rotors could also be the problem.=C2=A0 A=
nd probably a few things I'm not thinking of or that you haven't already co=
rrected.
So I would at least replace the following:
Brake pads.=C2=A0 I've used the "Green Stuff" and the semi-metallic and I d=
idn't really notice that much of a difference.
Brake pad pins.=C2=A0 These are what the brake pads ride on in the calipers=
.=C2=A0 They can cause the pads to hang up if they have any imperfections.=
=C2=A0 They are very inexpensive.=C2=A0 Also lube the area of the caliper w=
here the pads slide.
Brake hoses.=C2=A0 Replace all four hoses with the ones that have a metal s=
heath around the outside.
Rotors.=C2=A0 Probably haven't been replaced in who knows how many years.=
=C2=A0 They aren't too pricy and worth the money.
Calipers.=C2=A0 I listed these because you didn't mention if they have been=
replaced.=C2=A0 If they aren't leaking and you aren't pulling to one side =
or the other when braking then they are probably ok.=C2=A0 These are pricy =
and you could always replace them later if all of the above doesn't work.
Hope that helps.
Gary
