Parts - Parts - Parts

Hi Nick-

I have had very good luck with the service and parts from Healey Surgeons
Inc. in Maryland and they have also given me good advice over the past few
years. I had reason to talk to them today so I forwarded your question about
the pan seat gaskets. For what it's worth, they tell me that they used to
install a gasket in this location but they no longer install this gasket on
their restorations because the gasket tends to hold moisture and causes rot
over the long haul. They feel that properly securing the pan over the edge
of the carpet is sufficient to seal out road splash.

Best regards,

Orvar

Everybody needs them, but not all of us know where to get them. For the
"tractor" back seats of my 1963 BJ7, I found remnants of some foam rubber
type gaskets, that allowed the seats to seal to the body and prevented water
from splashing in from the underside. Moss or VicBrit has nothing I could
find in their catalog addressing this, just new seats. Does anyone have an
idea where this gasket material could be found? It may be something someone
added after market. All responses appreciated.

Nick
