[Roadsters] Brake rotors

This just occurred to me - and I'm surprised that I haven't run across it before: Are brake discs repairable by surface buildup weld repair and regrinding? I can foresee potential problems with this - warping especially - but maybe this is not an insurmountable obstacle?

I have seen some pretty beat-up crankshafts welded and reground, but this thread on brake rotors made me realize that I have never heard of this being done to brake discs.
