Actually yes on the residue -- thought of that after I replied. Take a can of air to your work after you've burnished stuff, especially those sockets. Blow out all the detritus you've shaken loose from whatever method.

I like the Dremel with the various tiny ss brushes for this stuff. Works well and fast, no sanding residue.
