>It's a TR3 with Carillo rods and a race-prepped stock crankshaft.  I was given the teflon pieces and a tube of blue dye.  I attached everything on the stand and rotated the motor.  Where the blue die rubbed onto the teflon, I trimmed with an X-acto.  again and again until the crank made no contact with the teflon.  With all of those little nuts and washers used to space out the screen and the tray, I made sure everything was tight and wouldn't come apart inside the sump.  Could you imagine a dozen little flat washers dumping into the oil?  Not sure if it would be picked up in the filter.  Anyway, the whole setup took about 6 months to get and was extremely well made.  It seems that tons of guys run the scrapers in Miatas and in many other applications.  There's only one way to find out if the scraper is the culprit and I'm eager to know what you learn when you tear down the motor.
