all true, and I am sure worker issues contributed tremendously,  but I  
have to side with the worker who blamed the product.  In 1970 through  
1973, Datsun sold 116,000 240Zs.  By 1980, Datsun had sold over  
500,000 Zs.  Compare a 139 HP 260Z (6 cyl ) in 1975 to a 100 HP Triumph.
Triumph sold 112,000 TR7s from 1975 through 1981.  By the time Triumph  
introduced this car, Datsun had been at it with a better car for five  
years.
I believe if there had been a better mousetrap, Triumph could have  
sold more, in spite of the quality issues.  They tried to imitate  
rather than innovate.
BTW, there's a great website called www.conceptcarz.com that has info  
on seemingly every car ever made.
