I posted the e-mail to which you linked.

The pickle-fork-as-a-lever method did indeed work, after I did these two
things:

1. I found that the pin was stuck because it was bent. The car must have been
in an accident that bent the part of the pin that goes inside the leaf spring,
This prevented the pin from moving inward after about 1/2 inch or so.
Unfortunately, a little of the bent part was already in the frame bushing. I
cut the exposed portion of the pin even with the bushing with a Sawzall to
alleviate this problem.

2. I borrowed an oxy-acetylene torch from work.



I enlisted a friend to help me. We took turns spraying the pin with Aerokroil,
swearing, beating on the pickle fork end with a BFH, swearing, and heating the
frame.

The pin came out.
