Actually, the proper procedure is to measure the installed tension and then
install shims as necessary.  The installed tension is given in the workshop
manual.

If you have ground the seats enough to cause spring tension problems, you're
also losing power from reduced breathing (the pocketing reduces effective
cam lift and timing).  The usual solution is either oversize valves, or new
seats.
