II think the loving that Todd was talking about is to enlarge the Z-car
drum's center hole slightly to slip over the axle hub and to machine the
outside lip of the stock TR brake backing plate to fit into the recess
between the drum's steel lining and the aluminum casting around the
perimeter of the drum.  That worked for me.
