[Fot] Tr6 into Gt6

Hi Dennis,
I have a warmed up TR6 engine and gearbox in my street GT6. The
extra low end grunt is so much fun! The basic engine block is the same, so
mounting is a non issue. The GT6 sump will need a little massaging with a
hammer to clear the longer crank throws of the 2.5L. I've als heard that
aftermarket rods will reduce the need to modify the sump for clearance, but
can't verify first hand.

If you retain the TR6 intake manifold, you'll have bonnet clearance
issues. A GT6+ or MK3 intake will bolt to the wide port TR6 head without
issue. If you plan to rev it much, you will want to look into 1.75" carbs
for sure.

The stock gearbox might not like the extra torque, going to a TR6 gearbox
is highly recommended. Not that hard to fit. You'll need to fab up a rear
mounting bracket, bend the clutch arm to clear the frame, and have a custom
driveshaft made.
