All,

I was just rereading the story about these shirts in one of Kas’ prep manuals (the one with Uncle Jack on the cover, Racing, Winning, and other Myths, page 16 or so). These shirts showed up at the 1966 Daytona race, the very same race featured in a recently popular car movie about some guy driving a GT 40. Interesting, at least to me, how so many stories intertwine when it comes to racing in the 60s. To think, Shelby had everything on the line at that race (at least if you believe what’s in the movie) and Kas’ guys busting his chops with a knock off Shelby shirt.

Here’s to you Kas! To bad the cameras didn’t pan a little left or right, they might have caught one of these shirts on film (assuming the movie guys were accurate in their portrayal).

My Spitfire driver, Doug Brown is the short, very stout guy to Kas's right. Kas will know the rest of the guys in the photo.
