[Fot] Spitfire wheels

 Hi,
I can't offer actual numbers for Spitfire / Herald / GT6, but I did weigh TR6 wheels in the distant past...
My forged Panasport Lights (15x7) were 17 lb ea. Forged wheels are a lot stronger, but instead of bending they crack or break. But when I bought them they were heavier by a small amount than the normal Panasports which are not forged.
Wheels don't last forever. My mantra is buy new wheels for the race car. The used wheels are for rolling the race car around the garage.
I've not heard anything bad about VTO.
Regards,Bob Lang

Mark,

I run both John Brown (JBW) and VTO brands of the 8 spoke Minilight/Panasport style wheels on my GT6.  They both are plenty strong and priced lower than real Panasports.

VTO was happy to machine them to a custom offset when I ordered them, whereas JBW was limited to off the shelf dimensions.

If I had to order another set today, I'd be ordering VTO again.

Hey membership!!

Looking for ideas on wheels on a racing Spit square tail.

I have some older PanaSports that need a lot of work and maybe powder coating to look good again. Trying to find a place and the cost to see what that would end up being dollar wise if anyone know that it would be helpful.

Then I thought, “Humm, maybe it might not be too much more to buy some new wheels”. Check PanaSports and they are like 300.00 and up. Does anyone here use something else that is lightweight, strong and attractive like PanaSports that I might not be aware of that might be at a better cost?

Thanks to all for any intel.
