I got mine out and rebuilt it, then later replaced it with a modern electronic unit, all without removing the duct. But it is NOT fun!

Ken, it's mostly just relays and terminals in the box. Try cleaning them up before investing in new...

I can't remember having to cut the hose to get access, so I'm wondering if you can get it to move by loosening all of it's mounts?

Finally, I think I remember being able to remove a relay box with the hose in place by working across the car from the other side. It was painfully slow, but doable, especially when using something to keep my body weight off the fender.

Good luck on your mission!

I have traced the fault of my left front turn signal to the big control
box on the left inner fender. The upper mounting screw of the box is
under the fresh air duct. I think I have to cut the duct as I can't
shove it back towards the carbs more than a couple of inches. I thought
of piecing the duct back together with some large pvc sleeve inside it.
What does the list think?
Also are the repro relay boxes any good?
Thanks,
