  Bob,

That's the idea! There's an absolutely dynamite barbecue place --
several, actually -- in Brady! The backroads through there have 70 MPH
speed limits, and you can make good time. Another alternative would =
be=20
to bypass Austin to the North, there are some slow roads through=20
  town.

Ah, but does the route come through Austin around quitting time? And =
would there be a chance to attend onne of those "Austin City Limits" =
shows? <grin>

There might be more fun roads a little further east than
the panhandle, I don't know for sure -- but the panhandle=20
is pretty boring, too. Mark might be able to suggest
  something!

BTW, I have bought MS Streets 2004 -- I suppose I can now
generate maps that you can use directly? The SF route
is not exactly as I concieved it -- in fact, goes on roads that=20
  don't exist!

I love these map programs! I've found that after the program has an =
initial swipe at it, it takes some manual massaging to make a Tour route =
work correctly. That also explains, to those who do not have this =
program, why Bob often asks for more explicit directions from some of =
the SCs when he is making up the Tour route maps.

  Jamie
