Once you get past the logo, the web materials, and common interests of =
the participants, I see no particular value to striving for further =
'unification'. With the given geographical and SC diversity, the tour =
will inherently remain 50+ events; 'unification' will naturally occur as =
a result of the camaraderie of bringing folks together with similar =
interests. =20
BTW, I like many others, don't plan on collecting any sector fees in =
Minnesota.
Dick.

I am sorry Mark but I have to completely disagree -=20
The format you suggest here removes the "unified" status of the =
event - if we pursue this train of thought below we actually have 50+ =
events that simply happen to begin and end at similar times.

Hey, everyone.
I think we are discussing something that doesn't need discussing. =
If the SC want to collect a fee, let them collect a fee. If they don't =
want to, then don't. I'm not going to collect one. It's too much hassle. =
If people download the itinerary from the Internet, they won't need =
anything from me. If they don't, I'll have a few copies available that =
they can pay me for, or maybe I'll let them pay to have a master copied =
at the hotel.
If there is a sector fee, it should be listed on the website along =
with the "highly recommended" costs like park entry fees, museum entry =
fees, show entry fees, etc., that the tour is planning to attend.
I think the EC could put an upper limit on the sector fee, so no =
one is surprised, but hey, if someone downloads the entire route book =
off the Internet and doesn't want to pay a sector fee, what are you =
going to do, flatten a couple tires so they can't follow? We are on =
public roads, so anything anyone pays is, for all intents and purposes, =
voluntary.
So, we shouldn't be arguing about sector fees, except perhaps to =
list a maximum. Beyond that, it's up to the SCs. A bunch of us have =
already said we aren't charging one.

I've put some thought into this lately, and have come up with =
Tour fees collected centrally, and Sector fees collected by the Sector. =
The downside to this is people will be sending their money all over the =
place, the upside is it keeps it distributed, with no monies passing =
between central and/or the sectors. This might not be the best way =
though ... any other thoughts?
We will probably also need fairly quickly a couple of =
registration people, one for the US, and one for CANADA. Jamie/Fazal =
comments? I have started to put together some registration pages at =
http://jonat.org/bob/RegistrationForm/RegistrationPageTest.htm if you =
want to see how things are going on this ... note that when you submit =
your registration by e-mail it does not work yet.
