Craig I think the Banff base camp is a good idea.  We could almost consider a route up through Jasper but that might be a bit much.  FYI I'm typing this from the Chateau Lake Louise.....doing JONAT research you know.....clear and sunny.....and 3-5 feet of snow!!

Any of those would be fine. There is so much to see in the mountains that I wouldn't want to have to rush people through it. As it stands now, I have scheduled a day to get from Golden to Banff, and that's only 95 miles, and the following day is Banff to Calgary which is only 70 miles, so there is lots of time for sightseeing. 
A trip up the Ice fields would probably be a good idea, as that's a spectacular road. Emerald lake is a good idea, as would a visit to Takakkaw falls at Field. Perhaps we should set up "base camp" at Banff and suggest day drives form there, as there are many places and things to do that are within an easy drive of Banff. 
Barry, how many rooms did you block off?
