[Kcup] Official KCUP letterhead

There has been a lot of chatter about next years Kastner Cup race. Guys are planning on coming from the east coast to join the large population of west coast Triumphs at Laguna Seca June 7/8, 2010. I have seen the list of those whose plan to go from CVAR and it includes the Blakes, the Kramers and Mark Van Lake from LA with his TR6. I am wondering if anyone else will be making this once in a lifetime trip.

With the two race days at Laguna Seca on Tuesday and Wednesday it leaves open the option to attend either the VARA Buttonwillow (north of LA) or the General Racing Sonoma Historics at Infineon (Napa Valley)event the prior weekend. General Racing uses HMSA rules, which means that if we passed muster for the Laguna Seca race we'd probably be OK there too. The hitch is that we are automatically accepted as a group with the Kastner Cup race but for the Sonoma Historics we are on our own, needing to apply with a detailed application by Dec. 1. Last year they had two TR4's, both with significant history. On top of that they have a practice day Friday and just two sessions on either SAT or SUN. Not a good value in my book. VARA on the other hand is more like CVAR and we could go with no worries.
I'd love to go to Infineon as it is on my bucket list but the Buttonwillow event seems much more practical as it is pretty much on the way to Monterrey. I think they have a 3 day weekend but I don't know the pricing. I'm thinking about doing the SAT/SUN at Buttonwillow, travel Monday and then two days at Laguna Seca.

So who else is going? Who else wants to make it a four days out of five California getaway?

Regardless, the transporter should have a margin of error greater than 12 hours. It is unlikely that there will be strong demand for the Monday test given the numbers that will also run Saturday and Sunday. Monday will probably be a travel and rest day.
