[Nobbc] Sunday's drive and a brief technical note...

Ron et al.,

A thousand thanks for a magnificent ride yesterday! The weather started out
with pea-soup fog at the Golden Gate and this persisted all the way to the
substation, where it began to break about 9:30 (I was 45 minutes early! -
unheard of...) making for the glorious day we all enjoyed. The ride back to
S.F. was something else again. Bumper-to-bumper pretty much all the way in
sweltering heat. The XK ran flawlessly though, only getting up to 90 degrees.
The electric fan managed to get that down a full 6 degrees though, probably my
best test of this need yet. Sorry for peeling off at lunch, but Andy, Marla,
and I continued on to Kendall-Jackson to scarf down our already-packed
sandwiches.

Best,

Norm

Happy MGA 50th, Ron - isn't that your age as well?
You're right, it's a fairly common problem with some cars - I've even it
on Jags in the past. The tip in this case was to lift the air valves -
we would have been waiting around longer if we hadn't, I believe.
Probably not many 50 year old Hyundais in the future, but I'll bet
Toyotas and Hondas might be around, especially the more collectible
ones. Guess the younger generation will be collecting and conserving
those...
Cheers,
Greg
