Hi John,

Two things, first I had tranny in my daughter's GMC Jimmy rebuilt at Vaugh's
transmission in Santa Rosa, a grand several months ago.The owner has been
around for a long time and gets good recommendations from the owner of the
THE REAR END SHOP, and the car has run fine since, but he failed to put in a
a new torque converter which is standard procedure when replacing or
rebuilding a tranny, I got it fixed no problem, I just didn't like it. he
gave me a price of $650 to rebuild my TR 4 tranny, which I am going to do,
but I will be very careful to make sure he does a thorough job.
Second, I believe you can get rebuilt trannies from Moss, or better yet,
Wayne's Triumuph Only in Stockton, 209-939-1020, www.triumphsonly.com. I
bought parts from them recently, they sell the same stuff as Moss using Moss
part numbers for 15% less than Moss. I bought a water pump and a couple of
other items that they were out of stock on, so they took my money, and ran
the order through Moss at the discount, the parts came from Moss, and
everything was hunky dory. If you buy through them, you should get a good
tranny and a warranty. Good Luck.
