[Nobbc] Possible lunch at Inverness Yacht Club, March 19th?

Mark: This future event sounds great...and that ain't no Hog Wash! I
would volunteer to help set-up and/or clean-up as needed. Also
certainly willing to contribute some $$ to make the event happen as this
is one of my favorite destination areas. Oysters would be great. I
always look longingly in at the little sailing club as I pass through
the area. Small sailing craft and Little British Cars just seem to go
hand in hand. I'll bring Tea for the Tillerman too!

Fellow drivers and oyster eaters:

I have tentatively booked Inverness Yacht Club for an Oyster Lunch on
Saturday March 19th.
http://www.invernessyachtclub.com/

The fee to me as a member for use of the Club for up to 30 people is
$100, plus $50-100 in cleanup charges. (31-75 people, the fee jumps
up to $250). I propose a small per-capita fee to cover this and the
cost of the food purchases.

The Club has no employees and is an entirely volunteer run, very low-
key sailing club, so don't expect anything smart. This will be a do-
it-yourself lunch with a view. Parking is required to be in the
small lots on either side of the road outside the gate with room for
about 25 cars...no parking inside the boatyard.

I would like to hear what form the NBBC members would like to see it
take.

I propose that we meet in Point Reyes Station for breakfast/coffee,
then take a drive out to the lighthouse, and arrive at the Club for a
late lunch of oysters, wine, beer, bread and cheese...all local. We
would eat in the bar with a great view of the Tomales Bay(and
ballroom if needed).

We would bring our own drinks (as IYC can only sell alcohol to yacht
club members).
I will bring oysters, "Hog wash" vinigrette, cheese, bread, coffee
and cream, as well as barbecue coals in case some prefer grilled
oysters (a little heat also makes them easier to shuck).

Please offer up your suggestions/responses, including whether the
date is practical for you.
We could certainly aim for a date later in the Spring if needed. I
just grabbed a date while it was available.

Cheers,
Mark
