Hey Ron,

I went to school in NYC for a couple years and don't remember it being referred to as "the City."  I do recall, however, that no local would be caught dead referring to Sixth Avenue as the Avenue of the Americas.  :)  San Francisco is and always will be "the City."  ;)

As an ex NYer, "the city" is and always will be NYC to everyone except San Franciscans. Maybe we could call SF "the town" as it's so itty bitty and cute compared to NYC ;-0 I do like the idea of a ride to "the town", somebody step up and lets make it happen.
