[Oletrucks] hood alignment

I fixed the "too high in the rear" problem on my '57 GMC years ago by putting
shims (washers) between the bottom of the hinge and cab. Doesn't make sense
to my feeble brain, but it worked. Got the tip from someone on this e-mail
list many years ago. Old horseshoe shaped shims, like those used for front
end alignment, work best because you don't have to completely remove the
bottom hinge-to-cab bolt to put them into place.

Subject: [Oletrucks] hood alignment

Does anyone have any tips on aligning a hood on a 55 2nd Series truck? I
attempted to align it today and so far it is to high in the rear (at hinges)
and the rear of the hood sits too far to the left. The front of the hood
sits to far to the right. Are there any tips to try other than drilling out
the hinges? It is out of alignment in too many places to make any since.
Is there any order of assembly to follow for aligning doors, fenders,
grills, splash pan and hoods?

                                             Thanks

                                             Tom in SC
