[Shop-talk] Drain Plug Material

Tom - My 2004 Honda Odyssey also had a soft oil drain plug.  I let the
dealer do an oil change and the next time I tried to change it, I had to
get a 6 point socket on a breaker bar because my 12 point Craftsman (old
style) socket kept slipping.  Since then, I've always used the 6 point
socket and never had any issues (of course, I torqued it normally by
hand).  I wouldn't be surprise it the tech used an impact wrench to
tighten the plug.

I know it isn't an answer to the plug material, but hopefully you can
get it off with a 6 point socket.
