Speaking of email, and the knowledge of this group, I have a question about email. With all the very savvy people in this group I'm hoping someone works in IT and understands email.
My email address is jblair1948 at cox.net.  When I got my Cox account some 15 yrs ago, they were providing the email and support, ie. my email went to their servers.  I was using Eudora at the time and POP mail.  Then about 2 to 3 yrs ago, Cox stopped hosting email for their customers and passed it on to Yahoo.  However, I still use my old cox.net email address but to get my mail I have to log into Yahoo instead of logging into Cox.
So is this now like the cell phones where you can carry your email address with you or is my email going to cox and then forwarded to Yahoo?
The reason I'm asking is, that if I change my ISP from Cox to say Verizon can I get my email send to Verizon or even Gmail or will I be required to get a new email address at either Gmail or who ever is my new ISP's email?
