Justin, sorry, you have it backwards. The tube from the throttle body to the valve cover is supplying vent air going INTO the
crankcase. Air is drawn OUT of the crankcase through a larger hose that lies under the snakes, feeding vent air back into the
throttle body to be combusted.
If you close off the supply tube, theoretically you might create a little vacuum in the crankcase. This might be good for a little
power and might help prevent some oil leaks. That's theory. Also, I don't think we know yet whether there might be any unwanted
side effects.
I have PCV supply tube clamped off on my 91. It seems to help power, but that's only butt dyno. Paul Nimz, what have you found?

Anyway, I don't think it would work. I mean, the name itself is
"valvecover vent". It's sucking fumes from the crankcase, into the
intake to the combustion chambers to be burnt up. Like a PCV valve
setup, right? If it were plugged off, I'd assume there would be a
pressure build up and more oil would be finding its way past the seals,
not the other way around.
