[Shotimes] what about a 540?

Uhhh, no...  That's the price for a Bosch unit, with the same part # as the
OEM, except in a Bosch box, not a BMW box.  Do you want to here the price
for a BMW boxed part?  $275+ (oh yeah, BMW CCA members get a 10% discount
:-)  At least the SHO gets a 250 lph pump for the $150.  I think I paid
$60-75 for the stock Ford fuel pump I put on the SHO.  But what took a few
hours in the SHO (fighting that fuel tank, putting it back in position,
etc), only took 10 minutes in the BMW (which includes telling my wife in the
middle of changing the pump, how simple it was to do).

But, if you have someone else do all the work for you, a SHO could cost as
much as a BMW.  You either get soaked on parts prices (BMW) or labor charges
(SHO).
