You're right on this subject. I have a 95 SHO and an 88 Vette ATX. I just
had the engine rebuilt and I'm in the 330 HP range and I can't beat a Z06
with my Vette either.

Before the rebuild (the crank shaft broke between the 5th and 6th cyl.) the
engine was a plain jane L98. My AWA was driving it and I was behind in my
SHO. We both took off and I couldn't keep up with her. Now with the rebuild
forget it and the ZO6 has 75 hp more than I have and almost twice as much as
the SHO has.

The SHO is a nice car and fast for what it is but there's a limit to what it
can do.
