According to several folks at Sachs, including an engineer at their US plant
(Florence, KY), the new (in 2000) 'Super Gas' struts are SHO specific part
numbers, designed as an upgrade to the OEM's which were also Mfg'd by
Sach's. They are made at the Florence plant, not in Mexico, as are most of
their generic replcements.
The above is from notes made in 2000 while researching front end parts for
an '89. The Sachs seemed nice, tight, good damping (both ways), didn't seem
to lose response when hot, etc.. Couldn't make a final judgement as I never
finished the front end.

Someone mentioned that Sachs was the OEM of SHO struts. Is this true? I
just
ordered a set from shox.com for $60 each + shipping.
