Oh, and what model number did you get? I see a bunch of Pioneers. Some
4 OHM, some 6, and some 8.

Thanks again,

Subject: [Shotimes] Replacing JBL Sub

Ryan,

I made the mistake of replacing the JBL sub with another SHO one, don't
do
it!!!

Chances are that any subs from these cars are blown or will go soon...
they've been sitting in the sun since 1995 at the latest, think about
it.

What I did, which was remarkably cheap and works great, is to replace
the
driver only with a standard aftermarket one.

Parts Express has a lot of 6.5" drivers.

I bought the Pioneer there for $24.95 and have been happy with it.
Cheap!!
I'm sure you could spend more but since the JBL amp is only like 80
watts
or something, it's probably not worth doing so unless you replace the
amp
too. Changing the driver out only takes 5 minutes, standard tools! The
JW0
one which was mentioned is, I'm sure, a better unit but much more
pricey.

Hope this helps,

Kevin
