[Shotimes] Parking Brake Cable??

You'll have to make sure that you get the parking brake cables adjusted
properly or else you'll end up with the same problem. Unless it's the
slider pins causing the caliper to hang... a whole other issue that may be
due to the e-brake. Who knows?

Anyway, make sure to check, double check, and triple check that you are
getting good movement on both the driver's and passenger's e-brake cable
ends at the caliper.

1- When you release the brake the cable ends and lever arm should return to
the full back position. You should probably be able to see a small gap
between the cable end and the lever arm... maybe, maybe not.

2- Make sure, as best you can, that both sides are engaging and preferably
by the same amounts. Try to get a reference point on the caliper so you can
measure the amount of lever arm travel... haven't yet done this on mine so I
don't know what a reasonable number is.

What seems to happen is that one side will not engage very much causing
resistance in the e-brake peddle and not allowing the other side to engage
fully. The end result is that the one or both sides may freeze, because the
system isn't adjusted properly. May seem like it's working from inside the
car... but give it a few months and you'll have a sticky e-brake system.

3- Make sure you get good peddle travel. My last round with the e-brake (I
thought I had everything adjusted... and didn't!) I noticed the e-brake
peddle only traveled about half as far as it should. Unfortunately I only
found this out after driving another '95 MTX. Live and learn I guess.
Later I found out that the driver's side cable was barely moving, while the
passenger side cable was moving, but not far enough to fully engage.

4- Double check everything. Personally, I would test drive the car maybe
even for a day or two and then check everything again. This seems to be one
system you want to take the time to get it right the first time.

I hope this helps... even just a bit.
