Yeah, it was Peter's shop on 27. No comment about the quality of the
rebuild, but I'd assume that they could at least get a SLO ATX rebuild
ok since they are prob the most common cars found in a trans shop <g>.

No problem on the spindles. It was fun although I am damn sore now. This
is probably spindle removal number 15 or so it seems. I can do them in
my sleep now. *yawn*

I have a pair of 96 rotors that you can have if you feel like getting
caliper brackets. That JY might have had a Continental with the proper
brackets anyway..I never looked..

I can't wait to get your car back on the road. Two half SHO's must equal
at least one whole SHO..maybe

The rebuild might be questionable though.  The aamco that I brought my
car too is within spitting distance of this yard, and I think thats
where this trans was done at.  I wouldn't let these guys tie my shoes
after the 3 months they had my car and still didn't get it 100%.  Ian
did you look at the receipt in the car to see if they were the ones that
did the rebuild?  This car no longer has its front spindles or door
handles thanks to Ian.  I want PBR and 17's!!  Thanks Ian for pulling
the spindles in about 20 minutes per side.  It took me and Jeff longer
to remove the handles, and the rivets were already drilled out!

There is a 3.8L Taurus in a local U pull it with a trans that was just
rebuilt a month or so ago...

Spitting distance from NE Philly considering the distance that you are
going to travel to get this car anyway..

I have three sons, aged 12, 13, and 15.  For Christmas, the elder two
are getting computers.  The youngest one, David, whom some of you have
met at SHO conventions, is getting a car.  That's right, at 12, David is
getting a car.

It's a 1992 Taurus LX with 3.8L.  Crucial thing is, two airbags. Snagged
it for $260.  It's in NE Philly, will need to get it home to La Crosse
WI.  It's got a bad tranny.  I assume the head gaskets will need to be
done.  Otherwise it seems intact.  Check out eBay #1874921331.

David and I had a long talk the other day.  We agreed that, as the
gearhead among the three boys, he was the one most likely to be willing
and wanting to fix up his own car.  We agreed we'd work on it so that it
would be ready when he can drive it.  This Taurus is a car that he and I
can prep together.  I look forward to wrenching with him on his car.
Wait til he goes to school (6th grade) and tells the other kids what he
got for Christmas!
