[Shotimes] David's car

A 3.8l can run pretty good, even if it may not sound all that smooth; I'm
still impressed with our Windstar. Yes, head gaskets before '96 are an
issue. My work has had a 1st gen blue 3.8l (I killed it - head gasket), 2nd
gen maroon 3.0l (I killed it, too - hit parked pickup), 1st gen silver 3.0.
(sold at 200,000 miles), 1st gen brown 3.0l (sold because it was beat up
when we got it), and 2nd gen silver 3.8l (died of head gasket in Winner,
SD). What's funny is that beat-up brown 3.0 ran harder than any of them!
Wish I could get my '91 Sable 3.0 to run that way, then I could run the SHO
on sunny days only...

You looking to replace or rebuild the tranny, Joseph? I've had a very hard
time finding a suitable one to swap into the '91, so we can all help you
look for one if you're going that route. Just need the code of the
bellhousing when you get it home.

I figured this way:

--- It's got two airbags
--- I can afford it
--- A teenage boy's FIRST car should not be a dream car. It should be a
safe car because he is going to beat and/or crash it.
After he's got some experience and some money, then he can start looking for
a dream car.

But, 4-5 years from now, when he's finally able to drive it, it may not seem
so cool to have a 15 year old 4-door car when his
friends will probably be driving something newer and sportier.
