You are absolutely right, the brackets DO differ from '93 to '94.  And the
'94 up Alternator does not have the small bolt goes into the back of the
lower bracket.  Although a '94 Alternator can be made to fit using spacers
to modify the backset and cutting off the ear that the small bolt goes
through.

Yes, there were some difference in 93 WRT the hub size of the pulley, but it
was still the 2 wire 90 amp alternator.  You should be able to swap
alternators from any MTX up to '93.  In '94 they switched to a three wire
130 AMP unit, or something like that.  Besides the wiring, I think even the
brackets are slightly different.
