What he said is true, but it depends on the state. California is the most
lenient for traffic school, most other states don't even have the traffic
school option.

That part isn't true.  The offense determines whether school is available.
I'd bet it is
for this offense.  If you don't have any other schools logged in the last 18
months, you
can go to school, pay the fine, and have a clean record.  You have to plead
guilty and
pay, or pay the fine through the mail...same thing, financially...to be able
to go to
school.
