I don't think the timing belt has anything to do with ignition timing.
The "vanes" on the lower timing gear trigger the crank sensor and this tells
the computer when to fire the plugs. The position of the timing belt doesn't
matter, although it could be off a tooth, the crank gear cannot be
mispositioned since it is located by the single woodruff key on the crank.
