On each of my SHO's a CPS failed and acted exactly like this.

You might try the cheaper fixes first like crank sensor or
fuel pump (which can act very similar).

Not all that hard to replace it yourself.  Go to the FAQ and then start
asking the list questions.  Likely to cost you about as much in new tools as
you would pay somebody to do it, but you will still have the tools and
better yet you will have the knowledge to rip into your SHO and do it next
time in less than half of the time.
