[Shotimes] Which MAF is best?

The car that I am referring to is not boosted. 75 shot of NOS, max.

As far as the Apexi; you gotta pay to play. Engine management is a
tricky thing that can lead to less than favorable results if done
incorrectly. http://www.extremeturboshop.com/pics/cars/trashed_302.jpg
for example.

The Apexi can be had for less than $400 however. I think that it's a
good tool for someone looking to tinker with their programming.

FWIW, my LPM was causing me to run so rich that I was blowing unburnt
gasoline out of my exhaust. I can only imagine the gasoline being washed
down the cylinder walls and all of the problems it could have been
causing.

If a mixture is so bad the car detonates then something is wrong with
the calibration of the LPM for sure. I can not imagine getting a
program that was so far out of whack it caused the car to detonate.
Wow! When the Apexi gets down to $200 let me know. Also, if you can
boost a car with no changes to the computer, sign me up.

If the mixture is so bad that the motor detonates, this will create
severe punishment on the rods and the rod bearings. Just cause you
haven't heard it doesn't mean that it hasn't been discussed before. :P

If a car has serious mods, it will need some tuning. An LPM will be most
effective with dyno time, but I find that there are other tools out
there that will be more effective if one is going to be tuning on a dyno
anyway. (ie Apex'i S'AFC etc)

I know of a SHO that runs 12.9's with no EPROM. You can build a car
around the LPM or you can build it and utilize the most from the Ford
programming. Personally, I prefer the Ford programming.

Rod bearing failures caused by LPM's? That is a first for my ears.
Elaborate please. As far as gettings serious HP out of an SHO, the LPM
is the way to go. I know of a certain boosted car that runs 13.1's at
113 with a little LPM.

What constitutes "better drivability" though? Personally, I don't think
that the SHO suffers from any drivability issues that require the aid of
an LPM.

My car was running way rich with the LPM. Others have also theorized
that the rod bearing failures may be attributed to poor A/F tuning via
LPM. It's too iffy for such negligible gains/losses; I was not satisfied
with my LPM and I'm glad that I got rid of it.

I thought that there are changes to the fuel mixture as well at part
throttle. Ted has always claimed better "drivability," not just HP gains

because of remapping fuel curves (I thought, but could be wrong.)
