I remember J.C. Whitney used to a rubber-like material that they advertised
to make side-skirts and airdams with. It was fairly flexible, so it could
go around corners to make an airdam, and it wouldn't break when you hit
something. Pretty cheap, too. We bought it back in the mid-80's and made
"ground effects" for our cars. We trimmed it to about 1/4" above the road.
Don't know if it really helped handling any, but to the butt g-meter said it
pulled about 1.05 g's :-)
