[Shotimes] Subwoofer woes

Hey folks,

When I bought my '93 ATX this summer, the subwoofer was blown in it. I 
found a good stock woofer in a junker near here, a lo-mileage 1994.

Over the past week the replaced subwoofer has gone to pot... its now blown 
too.

1) Is this a common problem with the SHO?

2) If I want to go aftermarket, can I just hook a subwoofer up to the 
existing amp? Those of you who have replaced the subwoofer, how did you go 
about doing so?

3) How many watts does the stock JBL amp put out to the subwoofer?
