While installing my oil psi sender fro my autometer gauge, I noticed
that the boss that the stabilizer bar bolts too looks a little worse for
wear. I was thinking previously about having a brace made up that would
connect from the stabilizer boss to the 2 bolts that attach the trans to
the oil pan. The picture looks worse than it actually is. There are no
cracks in the case, just chunks missing. I thought about have the
case welded, but I doubt it could be done without taking the trans out.
And if its not cracked, will welding really do anything? The original
bolt had buggered up threads so that is why there is a piece of threaded
rod there now with a nut on it. There were 2 nuts, but I think AAMCO
didnt put the second one back on. From the way the chunks are missing,
it almost looks like someone clamped onto the case with a pair of
pliers. I really wanted to go to e-town on Friday night, but this has
me scared of breaking something. Any thoughts, ideas, opinions, pity,
???
